A company that seems to have materialized from out of the mist snags major DOD contracts, including one for a 100 million dollars in psyhops work. Included on their board is Christian Bailey, and Andrew Garfield who seems to be a man of many IMPORTANT hats, including a media darling talking head with strong ties to both the Republican conservative think tanks, and 10 Downing Street. How did a company started by two 30 something’s men have such a meteoric rise, how did they get Andrew Garfield on their board, and even more importantly, why in the blink of and eye did three of their board members dissappear over night? Furthermore, how is this company being able to make their trail on the Internet dissappear…several pages on the Internet have simply vanished since this whole Pentagon planted story scandal has hit the press.
These Three people were listed as key members of the board on Lincoln Group website two days ago, but have not vanished.

The press so far seems to be deliberating steering away from any serious investigation of Lincoln Group, though there seems to be plenty of areas ripe for the harvesting of a major story. As mentioned in other areas of this blog, Christian Bailey was listed as being intimately involved in the 2004 Republican Party National Convention held in New York City. Christian Bailey was a FOUNDING member of Lead 21, a fast moving group of young wealthy republicans, yet in the past two days, any mention of him has simply VANISHED from their website. It should be mentioned here, that some of Lead 21’s members are NOW WORKING in the Bush Administration. “These are going to be the big supporters, the big donors to the Republican Party in five years’ time,” Bailey told The New York Times in an Aug. 31, 2004, video interview during a Lead21 party at the Republican convention in New York.Wonder if my message there made some people nervious? Furthermore, the company has admitted to working with well over 300 reporters in Iraq.
Perhaps a clue is found in Andrew Garfield, who is no stranger to the news media, and who in fact could be classified as a pundit of all things which concern the military and the war on terrorists. What I find odd, is Andrew Garfield’s apparent involvements with Jihad Camp, which is a learning center to teach American law enforcement how to think more like a terrorist…I find it interesting, because this camp just happens to be on the grounds of the private security company that provided Bremmer with his security force while he was in charge over in Iraq. Is this the foot in the door that was used to give Lincoln Group such incredible access to various press sources in Iraq.
Christian Bailey said, “Iraqex began handling PR work for private entities in sectors like manufacturing and finance within the country last year and has established close ties with 300-400 members of the Iraqi media.”
This quote makes one wonder just how many stories were leaked, and in just how many newspapers as well.
This blog is not the only one that smells a rat in the Lincoln Group rise to stardom status within the beltway of Washington DC. The Project on Government Oversight was quoted as saying, “Any time we see leaders who cultivate political influence for a particular party suddenly receive major government contracts, it sends up red flags,” It is suggested, that there are a lot of red flags, and lots of explaining that is not forthcoming. For instance, Lincoln Group admits to having relationships with over 300 reporters in Iraq through their subsidiary Iragex, which has since changed its name to that of its parent company, Lincoln Group. Are those relationships far more than that? In a press release, Iraqex states they have OVER 300 EMPLOYEES in Iraq!
“Iraqex benefits from strong relationships in Iraq, the U.S. and internationally. In Iraq, it has cultivated relationships with the Iraqi national government, municipalities, tribal leaders, prominent families, and the business community. Iraqex has a thriving network of offices from Basra in the South to Zakho in the North and employs over 300 Iraqis. In the U.S., Iraqex enjoys select relationships in Congress, the Administration, OPIC, ExIm Bank, and the U.S. Department of State.”
A theory of SUPER CONSPIRACY deepens when you see that Lincoln Group has listed as a sub contractor, the Republican Power House and King maker BKSH and Associates, and organization presented a bipartisan, but is actually a part of Burso-Marstell (supposedly world’s fifth largest PR firm), which is run by world reknowned Republican strategist Charles R. Black, Jr., who served both Ronald Reagan, and the first President Bush as well as acting as a spokesperson for the Republican Party. The firms LOBBYIST specialize in the design and execution of programs to help shape public policy. Cozy relationship in light of the purported purpose and scope of the Pentagon’s 100 Million dollar contract with Lincoln Group when you consider that BKSH brags about its ability to mount US, pan-European and transatlantic campaigns. Odder still, is the fact that The New Yorker back in February of 2004 reported that Black was considering opening up an office in Bahgdad…just months before Lincoln Group(Iraqex) got their first major contract (over five million dollars) in September of 2004. Did they have inside information? His comments in the New Yorker seem rather amusing in hindsight, as Black stated:
“The problem in Iraq so far is it’s slow, and very confusing for people to figure out how to do business there … One week you go to Baghdad, and they say the decisions are being made at the Pentagon. Then you go to the Pentagon, and they say the decisions are being made in Baghdad. Only Halliburton is making money now!,” he told New Yorker. “Is there too much cronyism? I just wish I could find the cronies,”
Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. In July 2005 O’Dwyers PR Daily Reported that Lincoln Group had retained the services of BKSH. This was after Lincoln Group had been retained by the United States Special Operations Command to wage psychological warfare on behalf of the Pentagon in Iraq and other hot spots.” Wondering what OTHER HOT SPOTS, and also wondering why it is today that the Pentagon cannot find any one to go up to the Hill to speak to Congress, claiming they cannot find any one who knows anything about the leaked stories. In yet another odd twist to this whole story, BKSH claims they have experience in Iraq from work done for…are you ready for this….Ahmed Chalabi and his Iraqi National Congress.

Sometimes we all sit and think. Sometimes we doodle with a pen. Do we ever look in depth at what we are thinking? I am amazed at the amount of people who say ‘when the phone rang I knew it was you.’ ‘I was just going to call when you called.’ ‘I was just thinking of you and you rang me.’ All now past and forgotten.
It may only happen a few times a year - but it happens. Try recording any event no matter how trivial either on a tape recorder or on a note pad each time it occurs, and date it. You may be one of thousands who can see something happening in the future - do not try and pre-date anything. Any future predicted events I have found can happen tomorrow or in eighteen months. At the beginning of this century we heard from the portrayers of doom and death, religious parties forecasting the end of the world. They have now amended their doctrine because the dates they predicted have passed.
I often wonder how many normal, average people in this world have had a thought or a vision in the past that has happened in the future. Perhaps now unrecorded and now long forgotten. It would be great to have a public notice board that registered some of the stronger thoughts and visions many of us experience though out our lives. Yes, it is now possible to do this on the web - a small two sentence prediction date recorded with a pseudonym. People with a great smile radiate a warmth that draws others to them instantly.
Several years ago I was in a San Diego restaurant with my mother. While I paid the check, we both noticed an elderly woman waiting to be seated. As we left the restaurant, Mom asked, “Did you notice that woman with the wonderful smile?” I most certainly did. Her smile lit up the room. It was a smile to die for; one that would certainly win instant friends. It was a smile that you don’t often see in a stranger. And maybe Mom and I smiled back, I don’t remember. Mom later commented, “I wish I’d told her what a terrific smile she had.” But neither of us had. We’d both received a gift without saying thank-you.
Later, on my long drive home, I stopped at a fast-food restaurant for a quick bite. A 70ish woman waited by the condiment bar while her husband ordered. She glanced my way and smiled brightly. It was one of those smiles that broadcast, “I love life!”
I wasn’t going to let THIS opportunity pass. I was going to say SOMETHING. As I approached this woman from 30 feet away, her smile melted into a rather startled look; as if asking, “Did I do something wrong?” I walked over to her and simply said, “You have a wonderful smile!” Wow, did her face light up! Usually you’re not even making that effort, and may appear even less inviting than you do in “bad” photos. And if you’re like me, you assume you’re not particularly photogenic and that your smile needs work. When you’ve mastered your smile, you’ll consistently look better in photos. Most important, though, you’ll be more attractive and approachable every day.
When you’re having a good time, does your face show it? You might be surprised. Years ago I dropped into a comedy club in Montgomery, Alabama. I was sitting in the front row, where one is typically fair game to be picked on by the comedian. But being the non-expressive, serious Norwegian that I am, I wasn’t giving the comic the jovial feedback he needed. I was enjoying the show, but in a straight-faced manner. About halfway through the show, the comic interrupted his routine to ask me point-blank, “Are you having a good time?” I responded, “I’m having a great time.” His comeback: “Well then, tell your face!” I was enjoying the program, laughing inside, even studying the performer’s humor and technique. BUT…not giving him any outward indication.
In everyday life the same concept applies. You might be enjoying your job, but fail to show it. You may want to meet someone, yet not give them a single, friendly clue. You can even be IN LOVE with somebody, and totally hide it. Your face should express what you feel when you wish to connect with others.
SMILE AEROBICS FOR EMOTIONAL HEALTH
One way to become better at smiling is increasing your awareness. Take notice of those you find warm and inviting. Is it their smile? Make an effort to LOOK for great smiles. Notice the appeal of people who smile with their EYES, not just their mouth. The whole face gets involved. Consider these people your models. Study yourself in the mirror. How do you look in the rest room, when shopping, and while passing a reflective window? Do you look friendly? Approachable? Do you really LIKE the image you’re projecting?
In fact, a mirror is ideal for your smile workout. Practice various smiles toward capturing that perfect look for the camera. Work on expressing your smile with your eyes. A tip: cut a paper rectangle that permits you to see only your eyes in the mirror. Practice smiling just with your eyes. Get used to the feel of your cheekbones as they lift to brighten your eyes. When you see how a great smile LOOKS, remember how it FEELS. When you can finally project your best smile, hold it. Turn away from the mirror. How does your face feel? What muscles are you using? Make an effort to develop muscle memory, so you can instantly recreate this smile at will.
THE SMILING REMINDER
Sometimes it’s life’s little reminders that help us focus on making self-improvements. I set out to find a “smile” lapel pin as a permanent token of my smile’s importance. After a fruitless one-year search, I commissioned the design and production of smile pins. Now when I encounter a total stranger with a million-dollar smile (not an everyday occurrence), I share the compliment, “You have a wonderful smile…thanks for brightening my day! I’d like you to have my golden smile pin.” Then I might add, “And someday, when YOU see a total stranger with a fantastic smile, you can pass on the pin to them.”
This little reminder has conditioned me to search out life’s glowing smiles, and not to allow them to pass unnoticed. I always carry “golden smile” pins. And when I spot a show-stopper smile, I always express my appreciation.
Other strategic pluses:
1. The pin reminds me never to leave home half-dressed: without my smile. Even while I’m running routine errands, it keeps me focused on smiles as life’s true blessings.
2. By shaping my focus, the pin increases awareness of my public appearance and attitude. For example, when in a grocery line, I don’t want the checker to glance up and think, “Why in heaven’s name is this sourpuss wearing a smile pin?” It forces me to wear a friendly face all day.
3. The pin encourages me to compliment others. When I fail to say a kind word about someone’s beautiful smile, I feel guilty. Now, that’s what I call constructive guilt! We’ve often been conditioned to feel shame because we’ve not lived up to what others expect, but isn’t it more positive to suffer guilt for failing our OWN expectations?
You needn’t search for a smile pin to remind you. You can choose another object, like a clown pin, that will program you to focus on smile power. Or consider something that nobody else sees, like whimsical underwear. In fact, you may discover that the sheer strength of just your awareness can create positive life changes. With practice you can focus on life’s smiles; and create your own relaxed, naturally warm smile. And THEN when you get back a roll of photos, you’ll like almost all of them! That’s certainly been my pleasant experience. And when you encounter customers, strangers, or loved ones, you’ll always be ready to pass on your award-winning smile!

In today’s society, the world really is getting smaller. As we
leap from one technological breakthrough to the next, we find
that within micro-seconds we can transfer information from one
side of the earth to the other. We can live on one continent and
be employed by a company on another. Air-travel means that many
people are part of a global workforce that commutes around the
globe attending meetings in every international outpost of the
company.
This minimizing the world is filtering slowly down through the
professional world, and into our personal lives. No longer are
we of the mind set that we will one day grow up and marry the
boy next door. It happens, but it’s just as likely to marry the
boy in the next State, or next country …….or the one who lives
on the other side of the world. The Internet is probably the
biggest influencing factor on current day international dating.
Throughout history there have been mail-order brides. From the
women who were sent to the colonies, to the women who answered
small ads from ranchers out west, and more recently, the Russian
(and I’m sure other nationalities) who place ads of their own
looking for a partner outside of their homelands. Despite this
history, finding a mate through some form of media has
maintained a “desperate” image - as if the person seeking is
unable to find someone to have them locally. The Internet, even
with its reputation for “adult” sites has somehow managed to
remove some of the stigma, and there is now a healthy and
steadily growing international dating scene.
The big question is always “Can international dating lead to
anything permanent”? The answer to this is a resounding YES!
Many people are prepared to take a chance on love, and move
themselves and their lives to be closer to their overseas loved
one. Those who do this find that they are suddenly face-to-face
on a daily basis with the name they’ve been typing too for a
period of time, learning how to co-habit with someone who is
physically a stranger, whilst at the same time learning how to
handle living in a new country. By far the worst of this is
being removed from family, and taking the place of communicating
with your partner online, you now spend your time communicating
with your family online instead!
There are still many people who regard international dating as
desperate, and deem any relationship that comes of such an
enterprise to be a failure waiting to happen. Ok, so it might
happen, but there are never any guarantees in the love and
romance game. Even if you shared a sandbox with the partner you
marry, there’s no guarantee that the flame wont go out and one
day you’ll wake up and find you have nothing in common with the
person who shares your life, your home, your bed. In the best of
situations, things go wrong. If the relationship came from an
exercise in internet dating, the fallout is messier because then
someone is left in a strange country with little by way of
personal support system. They then face the situation of either
toughing it out in their new country if the local immigration
laws permit, or they can return to their homeland and face
unemployment amidst the “I told you so” looks of friends.

stand together and say “It can work. We are proof of it!”
