Register for Baby Gifts

Posted in Briefings

If you don’t register for baby stuff you will, I repeat, will end up with a bunch of things that you don’t want or need. If you care about what kind of stuff your baby will be playing with or wearing, then I suggest going with your wife to register. But on the other hand, just let wife know what kind of stuff that you don’t want, and send them out with their girlfriends, They will be more than happy to go. Women just love to shop together. All the other stuff, you really don’t have a say in, and even if you do, there is so much that it will make your head spin around in circles, and eventually fall off. I don’t know about you, but I really don’t like how all the baby stuff is so babyish. I would keep all the stuff that is not clothing, neutral or unisex because it will work later when you have more kids. Pick things that you can use for more than one baby, unless you are only going to have one. If you have some friends that have little kids, ask them if they have any baby stuff that they want to get rid of, or let you borrow. You will save tons of money if you do this, as the toys, gear, clothes, and other stuff only last a short time. But you should check the recalls on all used stuff.

Making “Teamwork” Work

Tips on How to Work as a Team When Faced With a Large Project

When a big project arises, the first task is preparing your
department for the task at hand. Here are some simple tips to
effectively organize your team.

1. Plan your approach. Before approaching the task, decide
exactly what needs to be done and who will do it. If you plan
ahead, there is no chance of something slipping through the
cracks.

2. Establish a schedule. Present your team with a timeline of
what aspect of the assignment should be done by what date.
Having a visual record of project tasks and due dates gives your
entire team something concrete they can work toward.

3. Assign responsibilities. Assemble your team to discuss what
each person’s responsibility in completing the project will be.
Tell each team member, in detail, what his or her individual
tasks are. Writing down a short description of the specific
duties of each co-worker, outlining the specific duties they
will need to perform, will help to ensure that the project is
finished on time.

4. Check status regularly. Set up scheduled meetings to discuss
how the task is progressing. Having regular meetings will ensure
that all team members are up to speed on the status of the
project. This will also make it easier for the team leader to
address potential issues before they become obstacles to
finishing the project on time.

5. Offer rewards. Offer possible incentives to motivate your
team to work to their top potential. The rewards don’t have to
be substantial, just a little something to show that you
appreciate their efforts. The rewards can be as simple as giving
your team extra break times when parts of the project are
completed or allowing individuals the opportunity to leave 15
minutes early.

6. Give credit where credit is due. When the project is
completed, be sure to thank your team and tell them what great
work they’ve done. Showing that you recognize the work that went
into the project and that you appreciate the help of your
co-workers will not only give them a sense of satisfaction, it
will also help to make them eager to tackle the next project
that arises.

A project well done is a combination of good management and
efficient teamwork. As long as your team members are involved
and informed every step of the way, any project should be easy
to tackle.

How to Make Your Job Search a Work of Art

How to Make Your Job Search a Work of Art

What do I mean about a job search being a work of art? I believe
that it is an ad- venture in making efforts to become and be the
best person you naturally are.

Most people, I think, think of themselves as a drone or drudge
trying to find and fit into a proscribed set of circumstances
called a job description. Where does art fit into that?

Here I do not think of art as an objective set of things. Art
“things” could be: A training video; a painting on canvas; a
statue; or any artful things for the eyes to see.

An artful job seeker is one who is: Caringabout their
appearance; someone who knows how to communicate with others;
knows how to make a good presentation of him or herself. The job
seeker can become a canvas for all to see and judge.

Some art judges, (employers) do not like what they see. An
example would be someone who dresses flamboyantly or has wild,
excitable gestures. That same employer may like to see a canvas,
(job seeker) to be somewhat like themselves in manner, dress,
communication style and in performance.

It all depends on what “art judge” you may want to impress.
Research carefully about what art form you want to use as a job
seeker. Some employers may want the person who uses exaggeraed
colors in a wardrobe to be their candidate.

What kind of art form are you going to be in your job search
adventure?
