BEAUTY BASICS AT FACE VALUE

Last year, more than eight-point-seven-million people underwent
cosmetic procedures to enhance what nature gave them, or didn’t.
But experts tell us that Americans may be jumping into invasive
procedures too quickly.

Despite the media coverage of makeover reality shows, the
majority of Americans are not looking for extreme
transformations. According to the American Society for Aesthetic
Plastic Surgery, most of us want to look better, naturally, with
68-percent preferring a subtle change. And experts agree that
looking your best could be accomplished at home for considerably
less.

Dr. Linda Franks, a leader in the specialized skin care
frontier, says “To get that timeless, healthy look you need to
start with an appropriate skincare regime. Taking good care of
your skin can stave off fine lines, wrinkles, age spots and even
dry skin.”

Where to begin? At the sink! Doctors say whatever your skin
type, the key is to cleanse it gently. Avoid hot water and use
lukewarm instead, to prevent over-drying. And throw in the towel
- traditional washcloths are too abrasive for the face, so use
your hands and fingers.

Sixty-eight-percent of women claim to have sensitive skin which
means dry, tight, chapped or easily irritated skin. Dr. Franks
advises moisturizing regularly and avoiding harsh cleansers with
ingredients such as fragrances, dyes and preservatives because
sensitive skin is easily damaged and takes longer to recover.

If your skin is dry and easily irritated, don’t wash more than
once a day. You may risk stripping the skin of its natural oils.
Dr. Franks recommends looking for non-irritating cleansing
washes that are soap-free, moisturizers that are light,
oil-free, and water-based to help maintain the skin’s natural
barrier. Another tipmake sure to choose a facial moisturizer
with an SPF of at least 15, which protects against both UVB and
UVA rays.

Skin sensitivity may also result from the third most common,
non-surgical skincare procedure known as Microdermabrasion.
Microdermabrasion is a quick and easy, non-invasive procedure
that helps to reveal healthier-looking skin by sweeping away
dead skin cells. Dr. Franks reveals that, following the
treatment, the best way to avoid irritation is by opting for an
ultra-gentle cleanser and moisturizer.

A new clinical study shows that PURPOSE gentle cleansing wash
and dual treatment moisture lotion with spf 15 are compatible
with this procedure.

How else can you obtain optimal skin health? Here are some other
healthy basics to keep your skin looking its best:

Dr. Franks says, “Exercise opens up blood vessels to make skin
look healthy and youthful. It’s so important for healthy skin.”
Regular cardiovascular exercise increases blood flow to the skin
which assists in collagen production. Maintaining muscle mass
through exercise can also help anchor and support skin, keeping
it taut. And drink up! At least eight, eight-ounce glasses of
water a day are crucial for optimal skin hydration.

So before you sign on for an extreme and expensive makeover,
just think back on some simple, beauty basics! You just might
like what you see!

Prom Updo Hairstyles

How can I get that classy updo prom or formal hairstyle? First
you need medium to long length hair. You will also need some
ponytail holders, gel, and long pins. The trick to getting your
updo to look its best is to use several of these pins in
different directions to hold your hair in place. Don’t rely on
too much hair gel as this just makes your hair stiff. You want
your hair to be able to withstand the humidity, but also to be
touchable by your date.

You want your curls to be loose. The looser and bigger the
curls, the cuter you will look. First, pull your hair up, use
some baby powder to add fullness and then tease your hair. Other
looks are more classic, like the French Twist. You have to slick
back your hair with gel. Part it on the side and pull the hair
down. You may need the help of a hair rat. No, not a real rat.
You can get this at a beauty supply store. It will help you pull
your hair down if you have real smooth hair. You will still need
lots of long pins.

Starting with just straight hair, you can use large curlers to
get those nice big curls. Once you have them, you can position
them in place on top of your head, towards the back. You don’t
want your hairstyle to make your face look too long, unless you
have a round face, and then it will help balance your geometry.
You can use shine serum to give you that sleek sophisticated
look. Be sure to use plenty of pins, flexible hairspray, not the
max hold kind, and gel if you need it.

Experimentation before prom will be the key. Use what works best
for your hair. Find some pictures on the web; try it out with
these ides using the pins, gel, and hairspray.

Does Thyrin-ATC Work?

How Well Does Thyrin-ATC and Other Natural Thyroid Products
Work?

Hypothyroidism occurs when there is an inadequate secretion of
thyroid hormones resulting in a slowing down of the body’s
metabolism. So many people just don’t know how far-reaching an
underactive thyroid problem can be. Unfortunately, people do not
know what symptoms an underactive thyroid can cause.

Many of the symptoms associated with an underactive thyroid are
fatigue, weight gain, decreased interest in daily activities,
difficulty in maintaining concentration, sleep disturbances,
cold extremities, and abdominal bloating.

Are Prescription Thyroid Medications Worth The Potential Risks?

Many physicians have prescribed thyroid medications, only to
find out that they were associated with significant side
effects. These drugs may cause chest pain, increased pulse rate,
palpitations, excessive sweating, heat intolerance, or
nervousness. It is recommended that people who have multiple
health concerns use caution when taking any prescription
medications. There is also the possibility that once started on
these prescriptions, the body becomes dependent on them and they
become a lifelong medication.

Are there alternatives? Nonprescription All Natural Thyroid
Support Products

What makes a nonprescription thyroid booster so appealing? Is it
the fact that quality, all natural ingredients are used? Is the
lack of side effects when taken properly? Is it the fact that
prescription products pose the risk for too many potential side
effects and drug interactions? The best nonprescription products
on the market today are:

1)Thyrotril

2)Thyrovarin

3) Thyrin ATC

These products contain thyroid boosting ingredients which
support healthy thyroid function. What other benefits can these
products offer you?

- They can increase metabolic rate and the number of calories
burned - They can increase memory and concentration - They can
decrease fatigue and sleep disturbances - Improve your quality
of life

You might not need to resort to prescription strength drugs to
achieve your goal of optimal thyroid function. Natural
supplements give you an excellent alternative to prescription
strength thyroid drugs. These products have limited side
effects, less drug interactions, and are less expensive than a
lot of the prescription strength thyroid medications available
on the market today.

Based on current research and recent problems with both
pharmaceuticals and over-the-counter drugs, natural alternative
thyroid boosting products are probably the more logical option.
Be consistent and administer as directed and hopefully you will
get the desired results thousands of others have already
experienced using these natural aids.

Your New Bra - Support the Right Size

Eighty percent of women are rumored to be wearing the wrong bra
size. That’s eight out of ten! They are facing discomfort and
back pain that are unnecessary. Whether you are wearing your
bras for supportive comfort, sex appeal, or nursing, it needs to
fit right for it to function properly.

There are what seems like hundreds of companies that manufacture
and sell bras, and there are just about as many sizing
discrepancies. Bras are just like any other clothing item. Each
company’s sizes are slightly different. The right size bra is
more important than other apparel items, due to the nature of
the product.

Getting properly
sized for your bra can be accomplished in a couple ways.
Lingerie stores will size your bra on your next trip to their
store. Unfortunately, many women feel uncomfortable having a
stranger size them.

Many women are now turning to internet lingerie stores for their
shopping. Online intimate apparel companies embrace the web
because it creates a unique format for their customers. Women
like to shop online for bras, panties, and stockings. It is
discrete and convenient.

Shopping online does create a problem with sizing. Since you are
not entering the store to be sized, you have to take it upon
yourself to get the right measurements. There is a simple
equation for finding your proper bra size. Even though many
companies will vary in size, it is still the best option. The
steps are easy:

  • Find a tailor’s tape for the measurement.
  • Measure
around the ribcage, just under the breasts. This is the number
portion of the size. For example, it is the “34″ in the size
    “34C.”
  • Measure around the breasts at the fullest part.
Leave about half inch slack for comfort.
  • Add five
    inches to the second number.
  • Subtract first number from
    the second measurement number.

The difference between the first and second number is the cup
size. If there is no difference, the bra cup size is “A”. One
inch is a “B” size; two inch difference is a “C” cup, and so on.

Bra sizes are A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, FF, and G. Some companies
have developed half sizes for those that are trapped in between.
The right size
bra will not feel tight, ride up in the back, or leave
imprints in the skin from clasps or straps.

When you are wearing the right size bra, you’ll notice the
difference. Just remember that your size will change over time.
Common causes of changes in size are:

  • Fluctuations in weight - five pounds is enough
  • Pregnancy
  • Changes in muscle tone - starting or
    stopping and exercise routine

Your body is constantly changing, so just make sure that you are
taking your bra size into consideration. It is important to get
remeasured about every year, or when there are obvious reasons
to do so. Your body is worth exact fit. It won’t cost any more,
just some time.
