Are you renowned for your impressions or impersonations of individuals or animals? Is your voice distinct or unusual in a way that amuses others, or are you thought to have a soothing voice? If so, you can use that sound for a career in voiceover acting with just a small amount of voice over training. Movies, TV and radio rely on all command some variety of voice over work at one point of another. They rely on skilled voice over actors to work on their projects. Even if your main pursuit lies in front of the camera, you can use voice over training and voice acting as a springboard to working on camera. Voice over training is also helpful if you are interested in a career in professional speaking. Certain names can be pronounced more than one way, depending on where the emphasis is placed. You must be mindful of the intended pronunciation beforehand. Making sure that your annunciation is clear and correct, and that you rewrite any words that give you difficulty in the first read through are the first steps to a job well done in the production studio. Few voice over actors are ready to give advice to anyone interested in taking on voiceover talent as an occupation. One rule of thumb, and overall act of courtesy, is that a voiceover actor get the correct pronunciations for general and rarely used words before the start of the first take.
