It’s football season and that means yummy tailgating parties! Check out these easy tailgating recipes which can be easily executed at home and then transported to the stadium for your fabulous tailgate party. All recipes courtesy of Celebrations.com.
Tomatillo Salsa and Corn Chips
10 large or 12 medium sized tart tomatillos
1/2 cup onion, minced
1/4 cup onion for topping
1/2 clove minced garlic
1/4coarselychopped cilantro, fresh
3 serrano chiles
salt to taste
Husk the green tomatillos, then wash. Pat them dry. Remove the stems and chop. Chop the serrano chiles. In a blender puree the tomatillo chiles. Add in the 1/2 cup minced onion, garlic cilantro until smooth. In a large serving bowl, pour the mixture and stir in the minced onions reserved for topping. Season it to taste with salt. Refrigerate the salsa overnight and serve with corn chips.
Touchdown Olives
1 cup assorted olive with pits
2 teaspoons olive oil
1 garlic clove, peeled and quartered
1 chile pepper, fresh
3 sprigs of thyme
2 strips orange zest
Rinse the olives with cool water in a strainer. Set aside to let drain. In a small pan warmed over a medium heat, add the olives and the remaining ingredients. Cook and stir the mixture for about 5 minutes until the olives are warmed. Turn off the heat and allow the olives to rest inside the pan. Yields 1 cup.

Oprah’s Big Give ProgramOprah Winfrey, one of America’s most celebrated media personalities, is also a philanthropist. In the late 2006, Oprah and the management of ABC revealed plans of a new reality show called The Oprah Winfrey’s The Big Give. Their deeds will be judged and the one who scores lowest according to the panel’s criteria, will be sent home. At the end of the season, the winner will receive $1 million — $500,000 for him/herself and $500,000 to be given away, and will be named the America’s Greatest Unknown Philanthropist.The first episode of Oprah Winfrey’s The Big Give was aired on March 2, 2008 and ranked #4 in television ratings, with over 15 million viewers. During the following episodes, ratings plummeted consistently. The final episode, aired on April 20, 2008, saw Stephen Paletta as the winner and was viewed by 10 million people across the United States.Despite the positive impact the show has given to philanthropy, ABC did not renew the series for a second season.

Being a best man is like many duties you will undertake in your
life no problem (even enjoyable) if you are fully prepared.
Before we begin let’s take a quick look at the origins of the
role. The duty of best man can be traced back to Anglo-Saxon
times where a man who wanted a woman from another village as his
bride would take along a trusted friend to help kidnap the poor
girl (beats paying a dowry!) and then the best man would provide
protection at the wedding, by standing guard to the right of the
groom at the alter (keeping his sword hand free) from aggrieved
relatives trying to reclaim the family member.
Others attribute the origin of best man as a Gentleman’s second
at a duel - a trusted companion who would off support (and
probably first aid) as his friend tried to shoot/slash his foe.
You will be pleased to hear that the role of best man nowadays
doesn’t include the probability of a fight (though I’m told is
does happen). The role of best man today is an altogether more
genteel duty. Essentially you are there to assist the groom in
the planning preparation and running of the wedding.

Supervision
Never leave a young child unattended for even a second. Toddlers are naturally curious explorers and a second is all it takes for them to find trouble that may end in tragedy. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) 75% of submersion victims were between 1 and 3 years old. Never assume another adult is watching your children, you must take full responsibility of their safety, particularly around water. When your child goes missing, always check the water first. At social activities, designate an adult as the ‘official water watcher’ to help keep all the children in attendance safe from harm.
Barriers
Obstacles must be put in place to keep toddlers safe around pools and water. Little ones learn new skills daily! One day they may only be able to sit, when the next day they are crawling and able to get into trouble quickly. It takes less than the time spent answering the telephone for a toddler to get through an unlocked door, get to the pool, and drown. . It is imperative that a mesh type fence completely surrounds the pool with a minimum height of 48 inches. This pool safety fence should separate your home from the pool and gates should remain locked when not in use. Take care not to provide climbable objects near the fence that would allow an adventurous toddler to climb into the dangerous pool area alone.
Door alarms, pool alarms and pool covers can also provide additional levels of protection, adding obstacles for an exploring toddler to have to get through before reaching the possible harm of submersion in the water.
Swimming safety skills
If infants and toddlers are relaxed in the water, they can hold their breath and provide parents with a few extra seconds to pick them up out of the water. As the children progress past the water adjustment stage, it is important to teach skills such as jumping in, turning around and swimming back to the side, recovering up for a breath and rolling to the back for a breath. These skills provide additional protection should an unsupervised water entry occur.
Infant/Child CPR
Have an emergency action plan prepared so that in the event of an accident you are able to stay calm and react efficiently and quickly. It is important all parents and caregivers are certified in Infant/Child CPR and first aid procedures.

Refractors, Newtonian reflectors and Catadioptrics are the three
main types of telescopes. All these different types have the
same purpose, but each telescope design does it differently.
Collecting light and bringing it to a point of focus so it can
be magnified and examined with an eyepiece is their goal.

telescope most people think of when they think of astronomy.
This type of astronomy telescope is easy to use and reliable due

catoptrics. This type is different from the other telescopes

apertures. Newtonians deliver very bright images and are low in
optical aberrations.
Catadoptric telescopes are the most popular type of instrument,
