Many Web-based Tolkien forum communities have been abuzz with questions and ideas about the Hobbit movies, which will purportedly tell not only the full story of the children’s book that J.R.R. Tolkien published in 1937, they will also “bridge the gap” between the Hobbit story and Jackson’s film trilogy. That would expand Jackson’s film franchise to five movies, almost matching the legendary Star Wars franchise in number of big budget live action film productions brought out under one guiding hand.
Although several Tolkien forum sites have dedicated movie discussion sections, many other Tolkien-related fan sites include a lot of discussion about movies in addition to the books that spawned the film franchise. Tolkien fans across the Web have celebrated the reports of returning actors like Hugo Weaving (Elrond), Ian McKellen (Gandalf), and Andy Serkis (Gollum). The continuity between the two film groups is thus almost certainly assured (especially as Peter Jackson’s original writing team is also involved in writing the screenplays for “The Hobbit”).
People are sure to find many tidbits and details scattered across Tolkien forum community discussions as armchair experts dig up rumors and news items. The excitement will continue to mount as the “Hobibt” movies’ production days get closer.

The storey we all loved to listen as kids was the one about dad that would explain why his face was covered in what we as kids saw as millions of tiny incisions and scars of which I will tell you all about closer to the end of my tribute to the greatest dad a daughter could ever have had. His dying at the early age of 54 came in as a shock especially when his appointment for the hospital was to have a plaster cast removed only to bring him dead in the waiting room.
Eventhough the parting of the ways was sudden the warmest of memories has still held a strong presence in my thoughts over the 26 years where I was proud to call him my dad. If I could wrench the time back - I would tell him how sorry I was for the times I took him for granted but regrettably that remorse will be taken to my grave where I know being the good man that he was will be ready and waiting for me at the pearly gates with open arms full of pardon.
They say the good pass away early and that is what has assisted to relieve the resentment I felt towards the man up above for taking dad so soon.People view the word “special” in many ways. So what do I see in my father that makes him more special than the others?
Dad served in the military for 34 years along side an army of Fathers Day Gifts. He was designated in Hong Kong when this story took place. The warning signal triggered into motion the evacuation of families living outside the camp to look for asylum in the camp at once.
8 of us were huddled together in the back of an army wagon with only pillows used for protection. We promptly followed the order to hold our heads down - the Chinese riot mobs were appearing up from the ditches that lined the route back to the camp amply equipped with all kinds of killing instruments - 21 stones gone into the wagon on the travel back to camp.
The convoy of trucks that accompanied behind and stopped - now stood burning wrecks. You can only imagine what the truck and the driver looked like when a onslaught of boulders were thrusted into the front portion of the wagon. There were no medals of braveness awarded to the driver when acknowledgement was delivered by the army superiors for his act of valour. The reason was due to a technicality that he wasn’t suppose to drive that day so the credit was granted to the incorrect man who was sitting up in front.
I often inquire nowadays this day would we all have got out alive if the boot was on the other foot, if those drivers did not violate the rules.
The result of that fearful day was a truck with no windshield a driver with no face and eight living bodies that lived to recount the tale - so now you have the conclusion to my story why those millions of incisions and marks, scarred us for life with remarkable memories of dear old dad.
